Swimming at the Y helps people thrive—in and out of the water. Swim lessons provide kids and teens with the opportunity to set goals and achieve success, learn water safety, and enjoy swimming as a form of exercise.

Through swimming lessons, swim teams, lap swimming, and more, the YMCA of Southwestern Ontario provides a safe environment for swimmers of all ages and abilities.

Swimming Lessons

Our aquatic programs are about more than just techniques and skills; they are about building friendships, developing self-esteem and creating positive experiences that will last a lifetime.

Swim Admission Policy

The YMCA is a shared experience to enjoy. Each of us can make it better for all by being considerate to others. YMCA members, staff and volunteers all pledge to treat one another with respect and dignity.

Become a Lifeguard

Getting certified is the first step towards working as an aquatics leader. After you have finished your courses, you will be a certified National Lifeguard and/or a Swim Instructor and eligible to apply to work at the Y.
