Our YMCA Health, Fitness, and Aquatics facilities are open and ready to welcome you!

At the Y, we have followed provincial and public health guidelines as we've navigated the pandemic together. In accordance with current guidelines, we will no longer require member vaccine passports in our Health, Fitness and Aquatics facilities as of March 1, 2022.

Health & Safety Protocols:

  • All members, staff, and volunteers must wear a mask inside the facility while travelling between program areas and in change rooms. Members may remove their masks once in their designated workout space.
  • Each member, staff or volunteer will be screened upon arrival.
  • Enhanced cleaning and hygiene practices including personal protective equipment for staff, consistent disinfecting of high-contact surface areas, and continuous cleaning will occur throughout the day.

Changes as of March 21, 2022:

  • Removal of active or passive screening onsite
  • Removal of masking requirements within our facilities. We ask that everyone is kind and respectful to others whether they choose to wear a mask or to not wear a mask.
  • Removal of self isolation for anyone ‘exposed’ to COVID-19 if they are fully vaccinated (three doses for those aged 18+). Unvaccinated individuals must still self isolate for 10 days
  • The categorizing of “close contacts” is now only people living in the same household with someone ill with COVID-19
  • We will continue to support and encourage good hand hygiene in all our programs
  • Enhanced cleaning protocols will remain in place
  • Modifications have been made at each of our sites to improve air filtration
  • Physical distancing measures will no longer be required in any of our physical spaces

Masking will be required for the following:

  1. If you have tested positive with COVID-19 you must wear a mask in public for 10 days – as per local health units
  2. If you are returning from international travel you must wear a mask in public for 14 days. You must maintain a list of all close contacts during your first 14 days in Canada, and monitor yourself for signs and symptoms of COVID-19

As always, our staff and volunteers are here for you. If you need assistance, please ask us.

If you require accommodations or have any accessibility needs, please connect with a staff member for support.
