Chatham YMCA Volleyball League
Welcome to the YMCA Adult Volleyball League - 2026-2027 Season
The count down is on until the start of the 2026-2027 YMCA Adult Volleyball season! We look forward to welcoming back our returning teams and players, as well as meeting new participants joining the league this year.
Registration:
Cost: $1,469 ($1,300 + $169 HST) per team
** Any individuals wishing to play, please email with your contact information and indicate the night(s) you are interested in playing. Every effort will be made to connect you with a team
** Teams registering looking for extra players, please email and let us know, you will be the first to hear of individuals interested in playing
Registration starts Wed Sept 02, 2026 (after 1pm) until Sun Sept 13, 2026 **
- ** MONDAYS: Returning teams only due to limited space
- ** New teams are allowed to register between Thurs Sept 10 - Sun Sept 13, 2026 and fill any remaining openings. League will be expanded if possible depending on number of new teams
- TUESDAYS: Returning and New teams
- WEDNESDAYS: Returning and New teams
- THURSDAYS: Returning and New teams
Registration can be done in person at the YMCA: 101 Courthouse Lane, Chatham, On N7L 0B5.
Hours: Mon - Thurs 6am - 9pm / Fri 6am - 8pm / Sat 8am - 4pm / Sun 9am - 4pm
Captains meeting: Wed Sept 16, 2026 at 6:30pm via Zoom or MS Teams - a link will be sent out to captains once registration is completed.
For your Registration to be accepted, you must have the following:
- Fully filled in Team Roster, all player information must be filled in
- Player code of Conduct signed by each registered player, can be all on one page together, or separate pages, whatever works for you. Electronic signatures are acceptable.
- Full payment: Cash, Debit or Credit Card is accepted

Tentative First Matches, pending school permit approval:
We are unable to submit our permit applications until the school year has started. We are hoping to be approved for the below dates, but they are subject to change based on permit approval.
Teams will be scheduled at Gyms within Chatham. This year I will be trying to keep teams scheduled at schools that best accommodate the division level and provide the space needed for the higher competitive divisions. We are also making an effort to apply for the smaller double gyms, but use them as single courts to provide more playing space. This will of course be subject to school board approving the request. Teams will be rotated as equally as possible between the 7:30-9:00pm and 9:00-10:30pm Match times. Based on last years survey, teams will be rebalanced after each division and moved up or down accordingly.
Mondays Women's Comp: Starting Mon Sept 21, 2026 to Mon April 26, 2027 (Season starts early and ends later then other nights due to Mon Night School Closures during the season)
Tues Co Ed Comp/Rec: Starting Tues Oct 06, 2026 to Tues April 13, 2027
Wed Women's Rec: Starting Wed Oct 07, 2026 to Wed April 14 2027
Thurs Men's Comp/Rec: Thurs Oct 08, 2026 to Thurs April 15, 2027
We plan to run a 20-week Regular season, with double elimination Playoffs (4-5 weeks as needed to accommodate the double elimination). All matches will be a best 3/5 format for league standings. All 5 matches will be played every week time permitting.
Is your child looking to complete their volunteer hours? We have an opportunity to be a door monitor. For security purposes school doors must remain closed and locked after school hours; it is helpful to have someone be present at the doors to let teams in, especially anyone running late. The time would be from 7:30 to 9:30pm. Picking and sticking to a regular schedule is desired. Anyone interested in Volunteering can email sandi.bellinger@ymcaswo.ca

Things to Know:
- Games will be based on a best 3/5 format, win by 2, capped at 27 during regular season. Playoffs will be best 3/5 format win by 2 and no cap
- Standings are calculated based on Match Wins, Set Wins, Points for and Points Against. Due to time constraints a 5th set is not always possible or limited to a score of 15. To keep standings fair, they are based on the scores from sets 1 to 4 of each match.
- Referees will be following the Volleyball Guidelines for Canadian Referees as outlined by Volleyball Canada: 2024-25_VC_Rulebook_EN_-_Final.pdf (volleyball.ca)
- All players must min 18 years of age and can only play for the team they are registered and have signed the Player Code of Conduct. No walk on players allowed, regardless of them being registered with another team in the league from any night. Minimum 6 - Maximum 12 players per team.
- NO SPECTATORS ALLOWED, including children and players from other league nights, only players registered to the schedule teams should be in the building. No propping any door open, for any reason, and no wandering the school.
