Family Camp

Camp Henry runs family camp programs throughout the spring, summer, and fall. Your family will stay in their very own oTENTik, enjoy meals in our dining hall, and experience awesome traditional camp activities including campfires, archery, canoeing, hiking and so much more! This is an ideal opportunity to reconnect with the people you love while exploring the beauty of Point Pelee National Park. We welcome everyone at Camp Henry but request that two generations attend with each group that registers.

Registration for all 2024 summer programs opens Tuesday, December 12th at 9am. Registration is completed through our online registration system. Once registration opens, the link to register will be found below.

The 2024 Family Camp Information Guide is coming soon to help you get ready for your Family Camp experience.  Check back here soon for more information!

Programs

Upon arrival, your family receives a program schedule for the week. Each day, we will announce the program options for the day and which activities require sign-up in advance. Families are welcome to join in activities together, or individually – whatever you feel like each day! Activities include archery, hiking, swimming, biking, sandcastles, campfires, boating, and of course, lots of classic camp games!

Supervision

Parents or guardians are responsible for the safety of their children at all times, except during staff-led activities that do not require a parent/guardian to be present. We ask that parents bring young children to their programs and pick them up afterward to ensure their safety, and the program facilitator to continue. Children under the age of 4 must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Young children are welcome in all program areas, as long as they are accompanied by an adult.

Meals

Three meals per day plus snacks, tea, and coffee are served by our Camp Henry Food Service team in our dining hall. There will be no shortage of options for even the pickiest of eaters! We are able to accommodate dietary restrictions and allergies, just be sure to let us know when you register. Please note, Camp Henry is a nut-sensitive facility.

Camp Life

If you would like to explore Point Pelee National Park as a family on your own, please check in with the office and we can help you with your plans. It is important that everyone here at YMCA Camp Henry treat both the natural environment and camp property with the utmost respect so we can protect this unique ecosystem.

Camp Henry is an inclusive community. We welcome people from all backgrounds, beliefs, and walks of life.

We ask for quiet in the oTENTik area after 10:00 pm to allow everyone to get the rest they need. Please feel free to enjoy each other’s company in the dining hall as late (or as early) as you like!

Arrival & Departures

Please arrive at Camp Henry on your arrival day between 4:00 - 5:00 pm. When you arrive at the Park, simply advise the park staff at the entrance that you are attending YMCA Camp Henry and they will waive the entry fee for your vehicle.

On departure day, we finish the session with a farewell BBQ lunch. After lunch, families are welcome to drive to the beach or begin the journey home.
