The Ontario Newcomer Trades Action Program (ONTAP) promotes the skilled trades as a viable career for newcomers.

ONTAP

On Wednesday, March 2nd, 2022, ONTAP partnered with the Windsor Essex Local Immigration Partnership, the Canadian Association of Mold Makers, Automate Canada, and the Windsor-Essex Regional Chamber of Commerce to host the first-ever, in-person "Breakfast with Skilled Trades Employers" event. The event was a tremendous success! Employers and service providers from across Southwestern Ontario joined us to discuss newcomers and their critical role in the skilled trades. We also highlighted important projects, addressed pressing concerns, generated innovative ideas, and forged strong relationships with one another. From heartfelt and moving personal speeches about newcomer success to informative presentations about how ONTAP can support the skilled trades in our region and, of course, delicious breakfast food, this event had it all! This breakfast event is just one more example of ONTAP's commitment to act in the spirit of cooperation and collaboration to advocate for and showcase the vital skilled trades in Southwestern Ontario.
