Full Day Child Care
At the Y, we believe that play is the primary way in which children learn. That's why our dedicated Early Childhood Educators implement our acclaimed YMCA Playing to Learn™ Curriculum at our Licensed Child Care Centres throughout the region. This national, research-based curriculum is regularly cited for its unique and innovative involvement of educators and children in an enriched learning environment.
Our Y Educators and Staff have been busy preparing to welcome children back in a safe and supportive manner. We want to ensure parents are informed about enhanced health and safety measures in all of our YMCA Child Care Centres.
PLUS - our YMCA WeemarkableTM app makes it easier for families to connect to the small moments and big milestones of their child's day. Photos, the weekly menu, daily observations about your child's play, rest and physiological needs are captured and shared throughout the day.
Infant Care (birth - 18 months)
Our Licensed Infant program offers small group ratios of 1:3 (with a maximum group size of 10) to ensure children receive the continuous support they need all day long. At the end of each day, our dedicated educators document infant’s sleep times, eating, diapering schedules through our app and communication tool Weemarkable. Educators and families work together to create a customized schedule that matches your family's lifestyle.
Toddler Care (18 months - 2 1/2 years)
Our Licensed Toddler program offers small group ratios of 1:5, with a maximum group size of 15. During the day, toddlers will follow a flexible group schedule where each toddler's sleep times, eating, and diapering times are documented in our app and communication tool WeemarkableTM. Our educators meet with parents to check-in on their toddler's progress and to discuss any questions/concerns you may have.
Preschool Care ( 2 1/2 - 5 years)
Our Licensed Preschool program offers small group ratios of 1:8, with a maximum group size of 24. At the Y, Preschool children follow a flexible group schedule which is catered to the children's interests at the time. Every day, our educators will document and share your child's learning progress and experiences with you through our app and communication tool Weemarkable. Families also meet with our educators to discuss future plans, progress, and any questions/concerns you may have.
