What is Community Connections Programming?

Community Connections programming connects you with social and professional networks, community organizations, resources, events, and activities. Connecting with other newcomers and Canadians can help you feel engaged, welcomed, and help you gain independence in your new community.

Community Connections is funded by the federal government through the Department of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

Monthly activities and events may include:

  • Events about culture & history 
  • Field trips to community resources & local services 
  • Sports & recreation events 
  • Neighbourhood days 
  • Conversation circles 
  • Networking activity with other newcomers or Canadian citizens 
  • Group activities based on shared themes or interests
